WoW blogging is a hobby about another hobby. Continued blogging usually depends on the writer enjoying both the game itself and the act of writing about it. For quite a while now both of these sources of enthusiasm have declined for me. I could say that Cataclysm has been a rather uninspiring expansion (personally speaking), but it’s also the case that I have been blogging consistently for years now and feel like I have said all that I wanted to say.
The short of it is that I am taking an indefinite break from blogging. I wish you all the best in game and in life.
Thanks for everything. If you ever find the desire to write strike again, you can always do it here :)
Wish you all the best too Eidotrope. Your posts were one of the better things about Catalysm, thanks very much for them
Sorry to hear that, you had interesting posts. Thanks for all your effort so far and all the best to you!
Thanks for all the great posts you’ve done. Best of luck to you.
Thanks for all your great posts. Will you still be participating in the hunting party podcast and uploading the mp3′s?
I hope you come back to blogging soon!
Yeesh, I suppose that even if I had kept blogging for 10 years, people would still think I’m Euripides. :)
People think I’m you all the time :)
I gotta ask though Euripides, what’s the future plans for this blog? (considering that Eidotrope was doing 90% of the posts)
I don’t mean that in any negative way. I’ve loved the work both of you have done; both here and on the podcast. I’m just curious.
Your theorycrafting has helped me so much over the last couple years. You will be missed. Thanks and best of luck!
Thank you for being a dependable source of knowledge and enlightenment for the hunter community over the years. Wishing you all the best.
You had really great posts and covered a wide variety of topics. I think you also probably presented the state of the game and hunters in the game (emotional topics which generate strong opinions) in a really balanced way.
I hope you find a new muse to inspire you. Although I don’t play WoW any more I still came back to this site to hear what you had to say. I think you blog well and appreciate all you have done.
Eidotrope, your posts were consistently my favorites out of all WoW blogs. I’m burned out and taking a break myself, and I wish you the best as you find a new and more interesting hobby!
Good luck in life; however it does suck to lose yet another good hunter resource for Wow. My question now is, “who is gonna step up to bat”? As long as Wow exists, there will always be a need for accurate and well thought out hunter information.
Sorry to hear that- and welcome to the club! Wow-free since January, myself. Cataclysm really lived up to its moniker.
thanks for all the good information and best wishes
Weekly posts just sometimes feel to be a chore. I can only manage one good post with good numbers a month. You are impressive!
I’d say you owe nobody anything. Including that slacker Euripides. Do what you want, post when you want, and as frequently as you want.
Otherwise Eurip will close the shop and redirect all customers to a nearby AH. ;-)
A sad day. A really sad day indeed :(
Good Luck with what you now do. You will be greatly missed.
You smell of old gnome socks anyway, the game has pretty much nose dived. Its hard for many people to keep the interest mop is just going to be the same thing again.
Thanks for all the posts mate. Best of luck to you also \m/

Sorry to hear of your decision but I can completely empathize. Blogging is, at most times, a labor of passion.
Your posts were always a good read, even for a non-hunter like myself, and delivered with a care that I wish more would emulate. Best wishes to you, wherever life may take you. It was a pleasure being able to read your thoughts.

yep. wow is dead. you can see signs of it everywhere. even wowinsider really only writes about MoP and that won’t even be out for months.
great game; great blog. r.i.p.
Out of wow for about six months, and I still read your posts. You made some very well thought crytical articles. Respect, good luck.
NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
Ok, this makes me sad, but I totally understand the perspective. Don’t stay away too long. Rest, relax, recharge.

As such hits us all.
I understand exactly what you mean (my blog is evidence of that).
Hobbies like this one has a tendency to sneakily transform into chores that we just keep doing out of sense of duty rather than enjoyment.
I just wanted to thank you for the great posts throughout the years. Your weekly updates were always in my reading list.
Cheers,
Gav
