This episode, we talk to Kruf, from Dream Paragon. If you speak Finnish, by the way, they’re recruiting.

Tried to listen on website — File not found. Sad face!!
That would be the sound of our ftp server dying :(
Downloaded. In a way wish I hadn’t. Kruf tells it like it is. Cataclysm was a fail. Not just regarding hunters but the whole game.
But sure anyone who’s played the game for any period of time knew that. There’s is no where to discuss the changes and issues, blizzard will always point to the forums but really.. they know that any good idea gets smothered under a sea of trolling and shite posts/comments.
They really have no clue what they are at, or should I say they really don’t give a toss in general. All the comments they make are pure business comments and more and more over recent months/years its become all to clear they are losing interest in the game as gamers game and just want it to be a game everyone can play and get purplez n organez and keeel ze dragons as fast as possible.
Yeah it’s been said a million times before but the crapness of cata sums it up for me, that panda rubbish will be another load of rehashed crap with some new zone people will grow bored of within the the first month and then guess what.. back to org/sw afking on this months l33t mount.
If your a altaholic then maybe there’s something to do, but the game has totally lost the ‘spirit’ it once had.
The game to a small degree still has some essence of it for the top 10/20 guilds for getting world first but with the advent of 10 man guilds being able to get server first etc.. its taken so much out of it.
I’ll stop typing now as I could go on about it all day in detail where it went wrong and how etc etc but it matters not.
Good times were had but they are few and far between anymore.
I still love my hunter though, first and only char played since day 1 :D
Looking at /played makes me cringe now -_-
I think Cataclysm was exceedingly enjoyable during 4.0, but I ended up quitting because it took too long for 4.1 to come out and I got bored of 4.0. I think the design intentions of Cata is what can be expected from now on from Blizz and that is to get every single person to see as much content as possible even if it means it is faceroll through LFR, Normal, and even heroic Morchok and beyond. Normal mode raiding now is meant for casuals and “real” raiding is probably only going to be found in heroic modes for people that want to bring back the Vanilla/BC days.
Kruf gives more info on the hunter class than pretty much any other source out there. A 20 minute conversation is so riveting and informative!
I often exchange notes as well with Kripparian (or did in the past anyway) and found him to be an equally insightful player.
i like it when the hosts curtail their own opinions (which while sometimes fun, are often just anedotal and limited by their own more-or-less average skill sets).
it is great that there’s a venue/podcast for Kruf and his like. hopefully not the last time we get to hear from him!
I agree with the point about curtailing opinions. It’s not that I dislike the hosts, I just really dislike it when they have an expert guest but prefer expounding at great length on their own less-informed opinions over letting the guest share his or her expertise. Episode 74 was an example of that, if I remember right.
