This week, we’re joined by Zeherah, creator of femaledwarf.com, and the most recent of three dwarven hunters to receive an in-game item named after her! We talk about OMG’s triumphant display of hunter PvP, and how it doesn’t mean we aren’t due for some buffs, as well as the buffs to BM DPS. Here’s the [...]
Zeherah’s Name to Appear on an In-Game Item
Posted in Hunter, World of Warcraft, tagged zeherah, Zeherah's Dragonskull Crown on October 26, 2011 | 3 Comments »
Zeherah’s name rests on a mail helm on the PTR, Zeherah’s Dragonskull Crown. There are two or three versions (depending upon where you look) of the raid-quality item in build 14890 on the PTR, and Frostheim has word that at least one version will be a Valor purchase. Regardless of what the details end up being, [...]

It’s a very Hunter Blizzcon folks! Darkbrew and Euripides talk about the hunter changes and break down the new talent system and what it means for PvE and PvP. Frostheim reports live from the event where his Ghostcrawler tracker was in full working order. Frostheim tells us what GC had to say on a number of [...]

The big news of the 2011 Global Battle.net Invitational is that a team with a hunter on it managed to come out on top. And it is news because, well, nobody expected any team with a hunter to do this well. The winning team was OMG, a PHDK comp of a holy paladin, a marksman hunter, and [...]

In the latest PTR build, cast times on Aimed, Steady and Cobra Shots have been reverted to their normal durations (they had previously been reduced by .5 seconds each). Also, Zeherah reports that the Explosive Shot buff affects the full shot.
Deathwing Drops a Gun?
Posted in Hunter, World of Warcraft, tagged deathwing, dwarf racial, gun, ranged weapon on October 17, 2011 | 6 Comments »
Initial reports of Deathwing’s loot table suggest that Deathwing will be dropping a gun. I know many hunters don’t like guns, but I, for one, am cheering after roughly two years of twigs and string being BiS.
Using World of Logs to Evaluate Hunter Performance

Evaluating player performance is a fundamental part of progression raiding, be it analyzing how a recruit holds up, identifying where existing players on the roster can improve, or just considering yourself relative to your teammates. One of the best tools for evaluating raiders is World of Logs (WoL). This post goes over how to use [...]

This episode, we welcome Serallios from raidbots.com to talk about the state of hunter DPS by spec. It’s an interesting tool, and well worth checking out. You can see how well you do against the rest of the world here. Here’s the site where we host our shows live. As always, here is the iTunes store [...]
Geography in an Instant World

I’m feeling a bit uninspired this week so I’m pulling some essays out of the `rainy day’ pile. These essays focus on in-game geography: how we have changed relative to it, and how it has changed relative to us. By way of warning, they’re written in the same vein as my recent piece on narratives in Cataclysm.
Steady, Cobra and Aimed Shot Cast Times Reduced on the PTR
Posted in Hunter, World of Warcraft, tagged aimed shot, cobra shot, CS, HAiS, Hardcast Aimed Shot, PTR, SS, steady shot on October 3, 2011 | 11 Comments »
We’ve received conflicting reports from the PTR on Steady and Cobra Shot cast times. Frostheim claims that our casted shots are “not changing at all” in the present PTR build; however, a thread over at the Arena Junkies forums asserts that cast times have been reduced by .5 seconds. Who is right? Well, according to my tests, the AJ thread is right. [...]

This episode, we get right back to your regular scheduled hunter programming. We barely have time to get over a third of the things that happened since our last real (non-drunken) show, and still managed to make a few factual errors. We talk about the 4t12 set bug, and it turns out that despite what [...]
Episode 100 extravaganza!

It’s hard to believe we’ve done 100 episodes. We celebrated by having Darkbrew and Euripides travel thousands of miles to Frostheim’s city so we could record the show live and in person. We had Michele Morrow as a co-host, Zeherah, Dawn Moore, and BRK as guests, and hundreds of live listeners on the stream. We [...]
