On episode 72 of the Hunting Party Podcast, we talk about all the recent changes to hunters, as well as what they mean to people playing on live. There’s not a whole lot of 4.1 news out yet.
Here’s the site where we host our shows live.
As always, here is the iTunes store link, the Hunting Party Podcast feed, and the direct XML feed. If you email us comments or questions, we’ll read them on the next show. I was kind of hoping that the music that started during the name reading was the awards ceremony wrap-it-up music.
I think Sic ‘Em being better than One With Nature for SV depends on your pet having point(s) in Wild Hunt. I find that if I put those two pet talent points into Shark Attack instead, 3 points in OWN nature and 2 in CA come out ahead of Sic ‘Em and even come out ahead of a SE+WH build.
Sorry but in your review of the fixes you said Bliz had sorted Aimed being OP in PVP.
They havn’t. I’m leveling a lock and doing BGs throughout. Hunters were and still are ridiculous.
As an example I just did a level 60-64 WSG. Top damage was hunter on our side who did 24 aimed shots 16 of which crit for an average of 3190 and a max of 5675. This effectively 1 or max 2 shots cloth wearers.
Dont get me wrong, I’m a hunter first and foremost and enjoyed getting sweet revenge on frost mages when Aimed got buffed. But there needs to be some balance.
Not just for the sake of other classes but hunters as well. Because you learn no skill if your attack is just to stand still and press one button which results in an easy kill more times than not.
Frankly it surprises me that Blizzard dont have some process to warn of issues like Aimed. Its basic maths to work out what the dmg of the shot is and surely if any ability can crit at a value greater than the HP of the characters level it should be toned down.
The answer IMO is reduce Aimed damage and buff that of steady shot. This would benefit hunter PVP since it would mean more pressure in arenas (where hardcasting Aimed is close to impossible)
They don’t balance around anything but level 85 content.
As someone that downloads the mp3 from the direct feed, I was getting pretty tired of listening to the list of participants week in and week out. That was until this week.
Thank you, Shavedwrists, for tuning in to the live cast.
Great show as usual. Been listening since ICC days.
