editor’s note: Please put your hands together for the newest OutDPS writer, Shadowstreak! You might know of him as the artist for the Frostheim Goggles comic, over at WHU. If not, go check it out- it’s some funny stuff! Shadowstreak will be writing about addons, since Faeghleis is taking a break from the game until [...]

Editor’s note: give it up for Zeherah, who is back to write up part two in the Learning from Logs segment! Part one is here. So you’ve already learned the basics of how to make a combat log and post it on World of Logs, and you know how to navigate the site (and if [...]
Hunting Party Podcast, Live Today! New time!
Posted in Hunter, World of Warcraft, tagged Hunting Party Podcast, poor cows on March 27, 2010 | 1 Comment »
Hi folks, we’ll be recording the Hunting Party Podcast at the same place, but a new time: today, March 27th, at 6:00 PM Eastern. The time shift will be permanent during daylight saving time, as Faeghleis lives in a part of the world where they don’t do DST because (I kid you not) they’re worried [...]

There’s no doubt about it, right now, the best hunter DPS in the game is done by marks hunters. Marksmanship is the end game raiding spec, if you have the gear. There are presently two styles of marks hunters: agility and armor penetration. ArP Marks Hunters
Patch 3.3.3 Bug Fixes!
Posted in Hunter, World of Warcraft, tagged bug fixes, explosive shot, explosive trap, lock and load, patch 3.3.3, rapid fire on March 23, 2010 | 11 Comments »
Well, there goes my favorite bug: Phyllixia posted that explosive traps no longer provide a 100% lock and load on the first tick. The explosive trap bug was more of a trash hack- the only actual encounter it will really affect us on is the gunship, and that’s fairly roflstompable anyways. Also, rapid fire now [...]

Hi guys, I have a real post lined up for today, but I wanted to take a moment to direct your attention to this post on Call to Auction, my other podcast. We’re doing an in game event where the prize is 20,000g! Long story short, you’ll be rolling level 1 dwarves (or gnomes… ew), [...]
Can Survival Raid? Pshaw!
Posted in Hunter, Marksmanship, Survival, World of Warcraft, tagged agility, comparison, dps, ICC, icecrown citadel, marks, Marksmanship, mm, pve, raiding, Survival, sv on March 18, 2010 | 54 Comments »
My old buddy (and OutDPS poet laureate), Frostheim, posted today about some things Ghostcrawler said about BM raiding. In his analysis, he dropped a hint that he had been planning a “can survival raid” post, so I figured I’d clear the air a bit about the whole survival and marksmanship comparison. I’ll say it right [...]

Power Auras Project Unnecessary!

As was pointed out by Sev in the comments of my post about this, there is an addon that does everything I’m trying to force Power Auras to do for me. Utopia goes a step farther than I can, and knows the difference between not having an available buff/debuff, and not having it because it’s [...]

From Zarhym: “Hellscream’s Warsong and Strength of Wrynn now provide their bonuses to player pet health and damage, as well as the absorption amounts of Power Word: Shield and Sacred Shield.” I’m happy :) edit: well, I will be in 3.3.3!

Daylight savings time is evil and stupid. I just don’t care. God, it’s so early. I hate everything. /emo Anyways, tonight I’ll be stress testing an interesting little setup I created the other night- a pair of Power Auras string sets that will tell you what buffs you are missing and what debuffs your unfriendly [...]
