Coiamin pointed this out to me on the 3.3 hunter changes post- all of the crafted agility mail has no intellect on it. Could this mean that we’ll become ranged rogues before the actual launch of cataclysm? Take a look (links open new window):

Hehe, interesting nonetheless, since Blizz also mentioned Enhance Shamans not having to worry about Int anymore!
While the gear containing expertise may not pertain to hunters it does somewhat hint to the change, as they indicated that not only hunters would stop focusing on intellect on items but enhance shaman as well, which those items are designed for. However, I see that as a minor change (via talents most likely) compared to hunters being changed from mana to focus users. Though it may be looking too much into it since it’s only a few pieces of gear.

The overall distribution of points on those items seems low. Doesn’t it seem like a 251 item should be better (even without the int)? My 226 Boots are much better, and they have int taking up some item budget points. I would expect those numbers to change by the time it goes live.
For the last year or so, blizz has been doing a good job at naming gear so that you can tell who wears it before you even view the stats on it (for the most part). At first I thought those two items (after the edit) were for shamans given their name. But obviously the lack of INT on them proves otherwise.
Maybe expertise is an attribute that will improve hunter focus in addition to what it already does for melee classes?
Apparently Shamans are getting some replacement for mana as well- those are indeed shaman gear.
Wait…shaman are getting mana bar removed too? Shaman is the one class I don’t have an alt for so I’m not really following the class updates.
My guess is that the gear isnt completed, look at the mats for them “Icecrown crafting stuff” plus borean leather plus arctic fur.
I noticed that as well. I think the “icecrown crafting stuff” is just a place holder until they figure out what to put in there that makes the crafted item a total pain in the ass to craft.
Likely an orb of some sort, or some titanium bars.
also look at the plate gear, IIRC it is all pretty similar and doesn’t have any int on it either.
What stood out to me is that ALL of the crafted gear (Mail and Leather) shares a single pair of stats. I’m going with placeholder stats for now.
Yeah, that’s why I put a “?” into the title, instead of the customary “!”. Nobody’s sure of anything yet :)
I’m throwing my vote in that this is a placeholder type situation.. though I’d be excited were it not. I sometimes feel like I’m the only person really eager about Focus. >.>
I certainly don’t think your the only one excited, I feel like sometimes I am one of few that is not excited for the change.
i want the focus system as fast as it’s possible too …
