According to MMO-Champion, Abyssal Shatter is live on EU realms, and presumably will be live soon on US realms.
Abyssal shatter lets you break an abyss crystal into some more pedestrian mats: infinite dust and greater cosmic essences. This means that the price for abyss crystals might start raising again, after the ridiculous drop they saw when people started 5 of them every 15 minutes in ToC regular. I’m working on finding an average enchanting materials yield per shatter- I’ll update when I have one.
Edit: an average reported in wowhead for 25 shatters (which is not enough data to be incredibly accurate, but is enough to get an idea of scale) is 2.25 greater cosmic essences and 4 infinite dusts per shatter.
On my realm, normal mats cost is 13g for a GCE, and 3.5g for a dust. That puts the floor value of abyss crystals firmly above 40g, and they’ve been going for as low as 25g since ToC was launched.
