Thanks to Matticus for the lead: looks like wow’s European site posted a bunch of information about the new Icecrown raid 5 man- quoted below in case this goes down:

Mini Econ Post: Abyssal Shatter Live!
Posted in economics, Offtopic, World of Warcraft, tagged abyss crystal, abyssal shatter, economy, enchanting, gold, greater cosmic essence, infinite dust, mats on September 30, 2009 | Leave a Comment »
According to MMO-Champion, Abyssal Shatter is live on EU realms, and presumably will be live soon on US realms. Abyssal shatter lets you break an abyss crystal into some more pedestrian mats: infinite dust and greater cosmic essences. This means that the price for abyss crystals might start raising again, after the ridiculous drop they [...]

My wife/accountant lowered the boom on me. This site and podcast are an expensive hobby. Now, it’s less expensive than a poker night (I’m really really bad at poker), and I keep costs light by sticking with the dumbed down hosted version of wordpress. The podcast, however, came with one large upfront cost (a half [...]
Agility vs. Armor Penetration After Nerf!

Hi folks! I noticed that about half the people who dropped by yesterday to listen to the Munken interview seemed to click on the single out of date guide I had linked on the right hand guides section. Murphy, his law, and the horse they rode in on can go fly a kite. That said, [...]
Excellent Hunter Pet Control Guide!
Posted in Hunter, Spotlight, World of Warcraft, tagged control, guide, pet, Phyllixia on September 24, 2009 | 1 Comment »
Phyllixia from the Hunters Rhok blog (and they do!) has finished her 5 part series on how to manage and control pets. An excellent read- even for level 80 raiding hunters :) While you’re there, add the RSS feed to your reader.
Cower Bug!
Posted in Hunter, World of Warcraft on September 24, 2009 | 18 Comments »
I am looking for some quick, barely scientific poll data about the cower bug. Adam Holisky, at the venerable wow.com, reports seeing it with his crab. I had heard that it was only a problem for cats. The way that I understand this bug is that once you summon your pet, every time you enter [...]

This week on The Hunting Party Podcast, we had the great pleasure of interviewing Munken, hunter extraordinaire from Ensidia! For those of you who may not know, Ensidia is a premier sponsored guild (formerly known as SK-Gaming) who has many world firsts under their belt. Munken is often the camera man for their excellent publicized [...]

4 posts yesterday. Unless Faeghleis finishes with post production on the Munken interview today, I’m taking the day off to nurse my sore head.

Onyxia is a specially re-released encounter to celebrate WOW’s 5th anniversary. Today, I’ll go over the basic strategy for the fight from a hunter’s perspective. The fight has 3 phases:

At this point, it looks like that despite what the patch notes say, the two piece tier 9 bonus is still not critting like a physical attack. [edit: thanks Frost!] It does work with mortal shots, however. Update for sep 24th: They did something last night- everything is now working properly. Serpent sting is now [...]
Undocumented Volley Change in Patch 3.2.2!
Posted in Hunter, World of Warcraft, tagged 3.2.2, aoe, ap, attack power, coefficient, dps, patch 3.2.2, raiding, undocumented change, volley on September 22, 2009 | 7 Comments »
Source: Ghostcrawler mentioned that the attack power coefficient for volley has been raised. This skill had, before a patch a few months ago, been ridiculously overpowered. For raids where mana was not in short supply, the largest single target DPS you could get was volley. The nerf brought overall volley DPS down by 30%. Since [...]
How to Enchant for PvP!

Hey everyone, today I’m going to write a short post about enchanting your gear for PvP. It’s not as straightforward as you might think. What enchants you use obviously depend on your professions, to some extent, but hunters actually have a lot of flexibility and it’s important to know what you’re doing.
Short Enchanting Economics Note!

Patch 3.2.2 will bring about the ability to shatter abyss crystals. This is very probably in response to the massive decline in prices that crystals went through once people realized that a good 5 man group could run regular ToC and reset it as many times a day as they want, disenchanting all the purples [...]
