I posted the podcast and a guide yesterday, so I figure I deserve a hunter break. Instead of a link to the fail blog (oops), I figured I would write the next installment in my series about how to fund your raiding habit.

This week we talk about changes to the hunter resource system, ammo, and pets announced at blizzcon, as well as the announcements about the new path of the titans, the mastery system, and other goodies! As always, email comments to outdps@gmail.com or thebrewhall@gmail.com. To subscribe to just the podcast feed, add this to your aggregator [...]
Hunting the Twin Val’kyr!

This encounter is incredibly easy. Both bosses hit like holy priests, and if you can clear to Yogg in Ulduar, you can faceroll one shot them. The Twin Val’kyr are the last intended challenge in the Trial of the Crusader raid (of course there is another one being released next week).

We recorded the newest episode, but it’s still in the dryer. If you need a fix, go check out the new Hunting Lodge podcast or Rilgon’s podcast.
A Hunter’s Guide to 5v5 Arena

5v5 has always been the hunter’s strongest bracket. We’ve never had enough support abilities to really shine in 3v3, and always lacked the burst to dominate 2v2, but in 5v5 playing a hunter feels just right. I really live for the moments when my 5v5 gets to queue. If you are lucky enough to find [...]

This guy is a pushover if you can clear Ulduar, and is fairly straightforward even if you can’t. Lord Jaraxxus is the second encounter- you’ll fight him right after the Northrend Beasts. On paper, the fight itself looks like it has a lot going on. Luckily, as hunters, we have a very simple job to [...]
Quick Podcast Note!

I hate macs. I’m trying to record the podcast on Mrs. DPS’s new macbook (because my desktop’s terrible integrated soundcard introduces buzz and has horribly low mic gain), however it doesn’t allow you to just plug and play a standard mic, you need a mixer or a mic that can do “line out”. Long story [...]
Why stamina-stacking doesn’t work in Arenas

Sometime early in s6, hunters looked at the talent hunter vs. wild and thought to themselves, what if I gemmed and enchanted completely for stamina? The desire to make a gimmicky kind of build work is understandable given how successful, in WOTLK alone, stuff like shadowfrost DKs (a phenomenon that appears to be making a [...]

This is my first hard mode guide. Last night, I was invited to raid Ulduar 10 with the clique after we had to cancel the 25 due to an unfortunate coincidence of real life stun-locked healers. We can raid if we have to sub in DPS or tanks, but offspec healers won’t cut it. The [...]

You’ll note that the audio is not as fail as the first episode- I told you we’d get better! In actuality, an intrepid listener/reader who happens to be a sound engineer by day stepped up and offered to show us how it’s done. If you ever need a sound engineer, let me know and I’ll [...]
Blizzcon!

If any of you lucky ducks will find yourself at Blizzcon this year, take a look at the Twisted Nether meetup- they’re good people, and it should be well attended. It’s Thursday Friday night, as I understand it, being held at the same venue as the wow.com meetup.
