I can’t wear half the new cool stuff I paid good DKP for because my hit is too high. I know, I know. I should have rolled something other than a space goat. Curse the Draenei starting area and how much better it is than all the other ones!

The way I see it, is as long as you’re not actively swapping out something better for the hit rating, there’s nothing ‘wrong’ with being over the cap. I mean, if you don’t have something with better stats on it that could replace the hit, what’s the big deal? Especially if you don’t even gem/enchant/talent for hit. I’m WAY over the hit cap but I haven’t turned down anything with more of another stat in favor of hit, and all pieces were still an upgrade in every other respect. I’m just sort of ‘accidentally’ over the cap, and can’t do much about it until something with less hit drops, which is yet to happen because of my pants luck with drops :P
I’m comparing upgrades, but one of them basically trades armor pen for hit and then has a little more of everything else. Alas, no easy solution.

I’ve been keeping old Naxx gear/trinkets in my bag purely because they don’t have +hit, in case I need to swap them out. I’m sitting at 8.5% unbuffed right now though, so it’s not too bad yet.
Seriously right! My hit is at 305 right now >_< without focused aim ugh and I have all the normal 25 ulduar gear that I need…i need that trinket from Thorim 10 Hard Mode lol
Same here. 10% hit without gems, enchants, buffs, FA. Was the gear ramping up hit significantly the first clue it was important? So, to lower hit and increase another stat – haste, ArP, Crit – you have to lose the 4 piece set bonus. As Flo said, I guess it doesn’t hurt to be over the cap.
as a fellow draenai hunter, i think being over the hit cap is almost inevitable once you start collecting all those shiny ulduar 25 pieces…just make sure that if you’re swapping things out you end up with a net gain in stats. An item that has extra hit rating on it probably has other useful stats like agility & crit.
My goal now is to find another trinket that doesn’t have hit on it (Mjolnir Runestone comes to mind), and maybe find a stat stick without hit. That alone would put me back where I can wear a few more pieces of gear with hit on it, and maybe even have a hit gem or two.
