Hi folks, I’ve added maintaining the list of WOW utilities over at Twisting Nether Wiki to my workload, but I need help. This thing is a wiki and some of you know things I don’t. Would you be so kind as to either drop by the list, create an account, and fill in a site [...]

Off topic: China bans gold farmers!
Posted in Offtopic, World of Warcraft, tagged blizzard terms of service, chinese gold farmers, gold farming, Offtopic on June 29, 2009 | 4 Comments »
Yay! Informationweek says that the Chinese government has just banned gold farmers. While I’m sure they’ll just pack up and move to Taiwan or some other place that is easier to do business in, this should mean a temporary reduction in spam volume.
Pulling as a Marksman!
Posted in Hunter, Marksmanship, Survival, World of Warcraft, tagged agro, aimed shot, arcane shot, bleed effect, Marksmanship, MD, misdirection, mm, piercing shot, pulling, Survival, sv on June 26, 2009 | 3 Comments »
Just a short note today- all you survival hunters who have hit the point in gear quality where starting a marks build will mean more DPS should note a very important difference in how we pull now. Misdirect is still awesome, but we can’t use aimed shot like we did as survival. I know it’s [...]
Check out Wowhead Profiler!
Posted in Resources, World of Warcraft, tagged profiler, utility, wowhead on June 25, 2009 | 2 Comments »
Awesome- we’ve all just lost one more reason to ever navigate away from Wowhead (except when they go down): the Wowhead profiler! Blog announcement here: Access all of your Armory information in an elegant, Wowhead-style tabbed interface. Do advanced, Wowhead-style filtered searches of Armory profiles. Check your gear score, and compare it to your friends. [...]
Notes of the day!
Posted in Offtopic, World of Warcraft, tagged character name, envoy of mortality, evil twin, giant's bane, In soviet russia..., musings, off topic, random on June 25, 2009 | 3 Comments »
I got the giant’s bane last night. Awesome gun. Not nearly as excited as I was about getting the slightly inferior envoy, but it’s best in slot before hard modes. I’ve started collecting good one-handers if nobody else wants them in case I ever get a pair good enough to beat my current stat-stick, which [...]
Marksman Rotation!
Posted in Hunter, Marksmanship, Resources, World of Warcraft, tagged aimed shot, arcane shot, chimera shot, cooldown timing, furious howl, global cooldown, keybind, kill command, kill shot, Marksmanship, rapid fire, rapid re, rapid recuperation, readiness, serpent sting, shot priority, shot rotation, silencing shot, steady shot, timing cooldowns on June 25, 2009 | 40 Comments »
edit: This post is outdated- all the relevant and recent advice is here. Here’s the first in a series of guides I’m planning on writing about marksmanship. Today, we go over the rotation. As always, it’s more of a priority list than a rotation, but it certainly feels simpler than survival did. First thing you [...]
Ulduar encounter difficulty levels!
Posted in Offtopic, World of Warcraft, tagged raiding, ulduar, winning a conversation on June 23, 2009 | 10 Comments »
I have a request. I am trying to win a conversation with a guildie, and I need to know what the general consensus is about the difficulty level of hard mode bosses. Please sort the following for me in the comments, easiest to hardest. Any explanations about your reasoning would be appreciated! Flame Leviathan Flame [...]

This is brought to you by Blog Azeroth‘s shared topic. Every week they pick something to write about, and it’s a good source of inspiration. This week, it’s about tunnel vision and situational awareness.
Iterative Marksman spec advice!

This is still a work in progress, and a canon marks guide will be forthcoming. Some of the things I learned on my first raid as marks, however, are: MM at my gear level is a small step up on DPS for most encounters, and a large step up for AOE encounters. This does not [...]
From Survival to Marksman!

Not going to go into much depth here because I haven’t done anything yet other than annoy a targeting dummy with my new MM rotation, but lets talk about the process of switching to MM.
Things I like the most about my guild!
Posted in Offtopic, World of Warcraft, tagged my guild is awesome, roflstomp on June 16, 2009 | 10 Comments »
Raid chat is never PC We start on time We finish on time Everyone brings flasks Anyone who doesn’t gets one from an officer, no guilt Once we get a first kill, we ROFLstomp it every week because Most people attending on a given night are regulars We use what feels like a fair DKP [...]
Dual speccing Marksmanship!
Posted in Hunter, Marksmanship, Survival, World of Warcraft, tagged dps, dual spec, improved hunter's mark, macros, Marksmanship, mm, raiding, repl, replenishment, Survival, sv on June 15, 2009 | 17 Comments »
I’ll be dual speccing marksmanship and starting to learn how to play it, so you can start to expect some quality MM content here. I did the math, and I’ve reached the point where the highest DPS SV build I can use is slightly less then the highest DPS marks build I can use, and [...]
