When wolves first came out, I picked up one of these level 80s just for the ease. I used it until I had time to get my far svelte looking wolf:

Mine rarely takes damage at all, and its always healed by healers. The only reason I use it normally is to get the pet happy after a wipe.

I assumed that wasting gcds on mend pet would be more of a dps drain than the mid-fight dash casts if you take charge over bloodthirsty, but then again I’ve never gone without bloodthirsty on my pet. Does he really take that little damage?

Thanks! I picked up one of these. I didn't lose any rep and didn't die, so really there was no risk. I was a little worried that taming a wolf would count as having "killed" it in terms of reputation, but apparently not :)

Great article!! What wolf did you attain for being at war with sons of hodir? :D I love all your articles. Is it normal to pull 2.5k dps on heroic dummies or is that too low :(

I did not realize that Furious Howl proc’d w/out the pet attacking. This is good to know, while the rest of the world is tackling Ulduar I still have a Heigan fight or two in my future, heh.
