OK, short post today because I have to get cracking offline. When 3.1 hits, you have a large opportunity to make money. All the new gear that starts to drop from Ulduar as well as the changes to all the trade skills are going to mean economic shifts. If you’re on the right side of [...]

Today the WOW blogosphere loses one of its favorite voices: Daniel Howell of BigRedKitty.net is going to spend more time with the family. I wish him well- family and the offline world is more important than a video game. Balancing WOW and real life is not easy. I suppose I shouldn’t call it real life, [...]

There are two perfectly functional hunter builds that you can use to magnify the effects of your explosive shots. One uses sniper training, the other uses resourcefulness to increase your lock and load procs (remember, these builds are baselines- spend the remainder of your points as you see fit). Both are viable and used by [...]

Back!

Well, I’m back. I spent the week with my nose at a command line prompt for a piece of networking I can expect to be seeing a lot more of. Other than that, I had time for two raid nights but no blog posts. I hope this doesn’t make my dear readers feel like they’re [...]

Just an FYI- the day job (the breaks of which I use to write this blog) is requiring me to go for a 3 day training on some new fangled firewall, so I reserve the right to not publish any posts until Friday.

I’ve got writer’s block, so I figured I’d share an email that made an otherwise crappy day feel somehow fulfilling.

PUG etiquette!

So last night I’m recruiting for a guild pug. We don’t have enough people to run 25 naxx on our own, so this means bring in some outsiders. I see two priests in LFG so I get them both. I know! Two priests! Both healers, at that! That’s like dropping a handful of change onto [...]

Today I’m going to do the next installment in my trapdancing series. We’ll discuss Loatheb, Instructor Razuvious, and Gothik the Harvester. Some background- trapdancing increases your dps by allowing you to get between 4 and 6 lock and load procs per minute. You drop frost traps on anything you can, even the boss if you [...]

I got a PM on the elitist jerks boards asking for help. A hunter had been asked by his GM to figure out what he was doing wrong. He has graciously allowed me to post my advice on this blog, so here goes.

Recruiting!

I’m still working on the next few posts about trapdancing, but in the meantime, I wanted to take this opportunity to invite you to apply to Wrath Reborn on Drenden. We’re a smallish casual raiding guild that raids three nights a week: Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday. We’re looking for DPS and healers. Our loot structure [...]

To continue my series of posts about how to trap dance, today we’ll talk about Thaddius, Noth, and Heigan. I didn’t write this last time, and then wowinsider went and linked to part 3 explaining how to trapdance, but not why. The explanation is on one of my earlier posts, but simply put, the reason [...]

Editor’s note: If you are lucky enough to win the key to the focusing iris from Sapphiron even after you repeatedly murder that ugly cat in cold blood (and everyone knows that killing that cat guarantees a /roll of below 10 for the key), don’t forget to start the quest before you have your guild [...]

The third in my series of posts about how to use traps on specific end game boss encounters will focus on the last half of the construct quarter. We’ve gone over Patchwerk, so today I’ll write about Grobbulus and Gluth. As a reminder for all the new readers sent here from WowInsider, the reason you [...]

I’m sick. I feel like Mike Tyson sucker-punched me right between the eyes. And I’m sneezing. So instead of continuing my series on trap dancing, I’m going to use this professions post I’ve been holding onto and go back to bed. I’ll write up a few bosses  in the trapdancing series tomorrow. Your professions can [...]

Continuing my series of posts on how to trapdance on specific bosses, today we’re going to talk about Patchwerk, Grand Widow Faerlina, and Maexxna.

Patchwerk is a healing fight- dps can just go full throttle and not worry about moving. Unless the heals fail to keep the hateful strike tanks topped off, in which case, whoever’s highest on the agro list with full HP is going to take a hateful strike. As Bonkd pointed out in my last post, this has happened to me a few times.

I’m going to write a multi-part post on trap dancing: the art of finding a safe way to get something to proc a lock and load for you. I’m going to go over all the bosses I’ve got experience with. I’ll do as many as I can fit into a post, and then if after reading them, you have a suggestion as to who I should do next, just leave a comment.

I’ve decided that I will post meaty hunter pve posts on weekdays, and not promise to post anything on the weekend. However, if anything I find particularily funny happens, I might write about it quickly on the weekend. Now, for your weekend enjoyment, I give you “Payment fail”, courtesy of the fine folks at failblog.org,
